Window to the Wilderness
Take the Window to the Wilderness tour and discover waterfalls cascading into mountain streams, thick green rainforests alive with native birds and animals and the rugged hillside trails on Tamborine Mountain. Sightings of kangaroos and wallabies are common as the tour travels through private farmlands to exclusive lunch venue on our 400 acre working cattle property. Koalas are often seen sleeping the day away in a gum tree. This trek takes you into the mountainous regions of the World Heritage Listed Lamington National Park. It follows a rugged 4WD track, providing an opportunity to admire the magnificent view of mountains and valleys to the west. At O'Reilly's Plateau, flocks of colourful native birds are often seen with the opportunity to handfeed. The Treetop Canopy Boardwalk offers visitors a close-up view of this subtropical rainforest area, with spectacular views for those who wish to climb the observation tower. The carefully constructed timetable allows for frequent stops to take in the sweeping views, leisurely walks through the forests, a refreshing dip into a cool mountain rock pool, meal breaks and wine tastings. Scones fresh from the oven for morning tea, an Aussie BBQ lunch (your choice of beef steaks, chicken fillets or ocean fish) will satisfy the heartiest appetite. After lunch, lessons on Boomerang throwing and whip cracking is always entertaining. (L)
